Keswick is a vibrant market town, nestled on the shores of Derwentwater watched
over by the mighty Skiddaw mountain. Surrounded by other magnificent fells just
waiting to be explored along with plenty of low-level walks all providing spectacular
scenery and tranquillity.

Derwentwater is known as The Queen of the Lakes and boasts the only
inhabited island in the Lake District. It also has a 'magic' island which only
occasionally floats to the surface. The regular motorised launch service round
the lake allows access to its many beautiful shoreline areas and is a really useful
water 'bus' for explorers and sightseers.

|
There is so much to explore - the history and literature of
the Lakeland poets ~ Wordsworth and Southey, the ancient Castlerigg Stone Circle
and its myths, the landscape and stories of Beatrix Potter or simply stroll in
the beautiful Borrowdale valley and stop to enjoy a local farm cream tea. | |

From the busy shores of Windermere to the Deep dark depths of Wast Water, from
the rugged rocks of Langdale to the rolling slopes of Grasmere, and beautiful
Buttermere, the Lake District has a beauty all of its very own and to be
enjoyed by all. |
